Supply Chain Manager
42 - 56.62 per hour
Morson are currenlty recruiting for a Asuuply Chain Manager to support one of our Naval cliets in Portsmouth. You will work with external OEM suppliers to provide service procurement on MoD projects. You will work with the Category Manager Implemented contracts for subcontracted services to provide business risk assurance and value for money commitments. Contributing to the development of the warship support supply chain function to harness opportunities for operations delivery, this role requires knowledge of procuremnt process and MoD contracts. Sitting between procurement, demand, project and supply chain the role requires someone that can manage senior staekholders in a similar engineering industry such as Aerospace, Naval, Defence, Nuclear or Automotive.
The role is being offered on a 18 month contract basis, with the possibility to convert to a permanent role. It will require full time on site and can pay a rate of 42 per hour PAYE or 56.62 per hour Umbrella Inside IR35.
Responsibilities
- To execute all material procurements in conjunction with the Engineering, Operations and Project Management teams
- To select appropriate make/buy and implement category / supplier solutions developed by the category team
- To work closely with the category managers to ensure contracted terms and value for money solutions are delivered and providing the best solutions for the business
- To identify potential risks and issues and work with the wider team to find resolutions.
- To provide regular progress reports against deliverables and provide supplier performance information to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop a communications structure to manage supply chain status, performance, and critical issues management within a project and functional management structure
- Ensure that all quality requirements and standards are met in the delivery of all work packages
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with all key stakeholders, including customer and suppliers, maintaining regular communication and managing expectations
- Establish, agree and deliver with stakeholders the required plans to meet schedule, cost and quality requirements
- Manage the material risks and opportunities within the project using the appropriate business processes to ensure these are effectively and appropriately addressed
Requirements
- Supply Chain best practice knowledge and experience
- Broad Supply Chain knowledge and a breadth of business knowledge and expertise,
- Good business, market and competitor knowledge
- Supply Chain functional people, process and performance knowledge to develop the function using enabling technologies to exceed or meet the business objectives
- MCIPS or working towards MCIPs
- Service procurement experience
- Experience in a complex engineering industry such as Maritime, Defence, Aerospace, Nuclear or Automotive
- Prior management of Procurement, demand, project, and supply chain
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be BPSS cleared or eligible for this level of clearance before starting on site
