The Supply Technician Lead for Tailor Operations is responsible for overseeing tailoring operations and supply functions within the Clothing Initial Issue Point (CIIP). This position serves as the technical lead for garment alterations, repairs, and uniform issue processes while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and contract requirements. The Supply Technician Lead provides supervision, guidance, and quality control oversight to tailor and supply staff to ensure efficient and accurate delivery service.
Responsibilities
- Technician & Tailoring Oversight:
- Lead and oversee garment alterations, repairs, and fittings for issued uniforms and organizational clothing.
- Ensure all tailoring work meets appearance, fit, and regulatory standards.
- Provide technician guidance and training to Tailor staff.
- Conduct quality control inspections of completed alterations.
- Troubleshoot complex alteration or garment repair issues.
- Supply & CIIP Operations:
- Oversee daily CIIP supply operations, including initial issues, exchanges, and turn-in processing.
- Ensure accurate inventory tracking and accountability of uniforms and organizational clothing.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate reordering or restocking as required.
- Maintain compliance with property accountability and supply chain procedures.
- Assist in conducting periodic inventories and audits.
- Leadership & Administrative Functions:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for tailoring and supplying technical matters.
- Supervise scheduling and workflow assignments for tailoring staff.
- Ensure timely completion of services to meet operational requirements.
- Maintain required documentation, logs, and reports.
- Enforce safety standards and workplace procedures.
- Support contract compliance and performance standards.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years of tailoring/sewing experience (industrial experience preferred)
- Experience in supply, logistics, or CIIP operations preferred
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of garment construction, alterations, and repair techniques
- Ability to operate industrial sewing machines and tailoring equipment
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or supply tracking procedures
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
- Applicant must possess a REAL ID‑compliant, state‑issued driver’s license or identification card
- Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 Investigation results, obtain and maintain a CAC.
Work Environment:
- Work performed in a CIIP facility or warehouse environment
- Requires standing, bending, lifting garments and supply items
- May require lifting up to 40 lbs
