Lead a safe and efficient aircraft operation through direction, coordination, observation, and hands-on assistance with each aircraft handling operation. Ensures all duties performed by assigned personnel are completed in the most efficient and professional manner including, but not limited to: Loading and unloading of aircraft, vehicles and freight/mail containers (ULDs/APCs, etc.). Build-up, break-down, and sort of freight, mail, and baggage, as applicable. Safe and proper acceptance, handling and transfer of freight, mail and baggage, as applicable. Ensure and verify security and integrity of all freight, mail and baggage, as applicable. Ensure proper marshalling signals for aircraft and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) operations, as directed.
Ensure proper two-way communications in English, using ground-to-ground and air-to-ground radios and telephones, as applicable. Ensure calculation and/or verification of correct weights, and destination/origination labels tags. Safe and proper operation of GSE and other equipment, as trained and certified. Service and support of customer aircraft (cabin cleaning, lavatory/water service, deicing), as applicable. Cleaning and servicing of GSE, ramp, warehouse, bathrooms, offices, and facilities, as directed. Safe and proper positioning and towing aircraft, as trained and certified. Hold all subordinate employees accountable for failure to follow all policies, regulations and directives. Maintain and control all required aspects of the operation in accordance with the corporate security program and TSA legislation. Ensure that the required company audit requirements are undertaken to ensure continuity and compliance at all times. Read, understand and clarify the implementation of the site-specific security plan and ensure that all WFS staff are issued with a relevant company ID and that they are required to display this identity badge.
Adhere with WFS Uniform Policy with professional appearance at all times. Comply with company approved clothing, proper footwear, personal protection equipment (hearing protection, safety vest, etc., appropriate to function) and jewelry restrictions. Advise Supervisor immediately regarding any hazardous materials (HAZ-MAT) cargo and/or any irregularities (e.g., spills, damaged items, pilferage, etc.). Comply with WFS policy for reporting injuries, incidents, damage and theft. Report ALL injuries, incidents, damage, and/or theft immediately to the Supervisor. Disciplinary action, up to and including termination, for non-reporting of any of above. Required Drug & Alcohol Test performed upon each occurrence.
