Honeywell Space CoE CZ in Brno opens a Technical Manager for Space Systems position for Space Center of Excellence. The Space CoE in Honeywell CZ is responsible for development of space products from idea inception, technology maturation to product development.

In addition, TM is expected to participate in the development of new concepts and technologies for future space products. This will include understanding the customer requirements, translating those into a product requirement, performing trade studies and writing research and development proposals. Currently there are several projects targeting space and aerospace under execution. The main customers are commercial space customers, Honeywell International s.r.o. and European Space Agency.

This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers to develop and deliver high-performance solutions and products for space applications.
• Drive project execution excellence and ensure successful delivery of innovative solutions.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team in solving complex engineering problems.
• Support NPI performance in close coordination with Integrated Supply Chain.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes and efficiency.
• Support the capture of new engineering projects and opportunities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills .
• Lead and manage a team of 10+ engineers, overseeing both analysis and design functions.
• Serve as a liaison between the engineering team and internal customers, clearly communicating technical needs and project status.
• Conduct employee performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support career development initiatives.

Key skills and qualifications

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, Control or Aerospace Engineering.
• Proven experience in electro-mechanical system design and development.
• Understanding of complex mechanical systems including mechanisms.
• Proven experience of technical team leadership.
• Good command of English.
• Good orientation in ESA ECSS and/or NASA standards and guidelines is a plus.
• Experience with aerospace mechanical systems or systems for space or vacuum applications is a plus.
