Job Description:

The Technical Order Management Support Specialist will play a pivotal role in providing essential life cycle sustainment support for aircraft research, development, production, and acquisition activities. This role centers on technical data management, maintenance planning, design interface, and supply support for programs related to MQ-9 and similar systems. The specialist will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, providing advisory and draft documentation support to ensure the successful acquisition, modification, and ongoing sustainment of advanced aviation systems.


Essential Functions:

  • Provide comprehensive life cycle sustainment support for aircraft research, development, production, and acquisition activities.
  • Focus on technical data management, maintenance planning, design interface, and supply support for MQ-9 and comparable programs.
  • Offer advisory and draft documentation support to the government in the acquisition of new development, production, and modification/retrofit activities for MQ-9 systems.
  • Attend meetings with contractors, suppliers, users, and repairers to contribute advisory input and develop equipment support plans.
  • Collaborate with the government to compile, maintain, and update allowance lists, provisioning documents, and other designations for tools, parts, and components necessary for equipment operation and repair.
  • Review layouts, engineering drawings, production drawings, specifications, and test reports.
  • Identify potential issues and provide recommendations for consideration by the government.
  • Support the analysis of equipment requirements and contribute recommendations to address potential implementation and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Offer advisory and draft documentation support for the development and review of updated or revised technical manuals, maintenance service letters, technical bulletins, and supplementary documents such as supply catalogs.
  • Focus on identifying, interchanging, substituting, and cannibalizing parts and components.
  • Collaborate closely with various program functional groups to ensure that technical requirements are accurately captured and incorporated into appropriate documentation.
  • Identify and communicate potential issues and recommend solutions for government consideration.
  • Contribute to the analysis and development of contract language, Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL), Statement of Work (SOW), and other program documentation.
  • Provide advisory support to the government in assessing system designs.
  • Identify potential impacts on current support plans and recommend solutions to address reliability and maintainability concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of aircraft research, development, production, and acquisition processes.
  • Familiarity with technical data management, maintenance planning, and supply support.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail.
  • Adaptability to changing requirements and priorities.

Education / Certifications:

  • Bachelors degree

Experience:

  • 10 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) of which must be in the DoD (Bachelors Degree)
  • 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, five (5) of which must be in the DoD in place of a degree (No Degree)
  • Technical background or relevant experience in aviation systems is a plus.
  • MQ-9 Maintenance and Technical Order experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently required to sit, and to reach to use computers and other office equipment/

Security Clearance:

  • Must have an Active Secret DoD clearance.
