Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated guidance and coaching to employees and managers within a complex business environment, with specific focus on: employee advocacy/engagement, HR fundamentals and process training, employee relations management, and workplace investigations as appropriate.
  • Provide employees and managers with an available first point of contact for questions and guidance on fundamental HR topics and issues; escalates concerns beyond their scope to Sr HR Manager.
  • Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures and practices at 100 compliance to promote an ethical and compliant work environment.
  • Assist with payroll and HR operations questions and issue resolution.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership on employee develop and organizational design.
  • Provide day-to-day Union Relations support including the negotiation of all collective bargaining agreements and dispute resolution at the terminal step of the grievance procedure.
  • Represent the company at all legal proceedings as it pertains to Union Relations and represent the company in Union Relations matters with unions at the local site.
  • Provide advice and counsel to management, Human Resource/Union Relations direct or indirect reports on contract language interpretation and other Union policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Negotiate the collective bargaining agreements, and terminal stage grievances.
  • Assist other functional support groups such as Compensation, Employment, Benefits, etc. in matters pertaining to union represented employees.
  • Establish and promote a cooperative and collaborative management employee work environment through the personal exercise of positive climate setting strategies and practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor Relations and/or 3 years experience in Human Resources with strong exposure to Labor Relations.
