We were meant to fly.As Value Stream Quality Leader you will ensure that deliveries are consistently meeting all customers’ quality and regulatory requirements and lead preventive enhancement initiatives. You will coordinate a crew of quality engineers and directly report to the Product Quality Leader of Combustors & Structures CoE.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage staff performance, identifying training and development needs, recognizing high personal performance and reward accomplishments

  • Allocate priorities to staff and execute comprehensive reports about team performance, mission-related objectives, safety practices and deadlines to stakeholders

  • Ensure with ownership, discipline and integrity the full adherence to procedures/policies, supporting the execution of the given strategies and targets

  • Be the first line of assistance to customers and lead the organization in the resolution of any customer quality concerns. Monitor customer score cards and plan preventive actions against disruptions

  • Partner with customer to anticipate volume growth and changing landscape for quality requirements and improvements

  • Regular daily shop management of Quality KPI’s through standard work (e.g. customer disruptions PDCA, losses/defects preventive initiatives, quarantine reduction, PQA risk mitigation, router compliance, etc)

  • Lead product certification compliance process to customer requirements

  • Lead problem-solving events to contain internal scraps and customer escapes, find root cause and corrective action, make the risk assessment and standardize through the Lesson Learnt/FMEA

  • Stop off the production in the event of uncontained manufacturing off-spec parts

  • Be an active member of the Hoshin Kanri initiatives and Lean development (e.g. re-layout, 5S, material flow improvement, etc)

  • Proactively liaise with the related business stakeholders to the development of in-process inspection

  • Lead risk assessment (e.g. PFMEA, PQA, etc) to ensure the compliance to product/process/system quality requirements

  • Be an active member of NPI activities (e.g. customer requirements flow down, FMEA, leverage lessons learnt, etc)

  • Lead the implementation of digital tools (e.g. pQN, Digital Stamping, QcCalc, XDNC, etc)

  • Deployment through Yokoten of Lessons Learnt from established successful preventive actions

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering field, preferably in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering

  • Knowledge of aerospace standards and customers’ specific requirements

  • Knowledge of materials used for the aerospace industry

  • Proven track record of all quality tools (e.g. DMAIC, PDCA, Ishikawa diagram, APQP, SPC, MSA, etc.)

  • Proven track record in driving quality assurance and control in a complex manufacturing environment

  • Background in GD&T

  • Willingness to travel abroad, if required

  • Fluent Italian and English

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
