As an assembler, you will set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, mills, boring machines, and grinders to machine both metallic and non-metallic pieces. You will be responsible for trimming, drilling, routing, lining up, and assembling materials using forming machine presses. Additionally, you will set up and break down production tools and aids, use measuring equipment to check and monitor work processes, and perform daily maintenance on machines.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, mills, boring machines, and grinders.
• Trim, drill, route, line up, and assemble materials.
• Work with forming machine presses.
• Set up and break down production tools and aids.
• Use gauges, scales, calipers, and other measuring equipment.
• Perform daily maintenance on machines including maintaining fluid levels, emptying chips, and cleaning machines.
• Check and monitor parts that are being run.
• Deburr and blend all machined parts.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read basic dimensions and tolerances of blueprints.
• Math skills for basic calculations.
• Proficiency in using measuring equipment like calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

• Knowledge of the aerospace industry preferred.
• Trade school education in machining practices preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment includes assembly tasks with openings at different locations. Shifts are Monday to Thursday, with varying start times. The facility is non-climate controlled, and the work can be physically demanding and hot during summer months. Personal protective equipment such as steel-toed boots and eye/ear protection is required. The role involves sitting or standing for extended periods, and there is a rotation every three months to different work areas to prevent burnout. The company is still on mandatory overtime, with potential for 12-hour shifts due to holiday backlog and absenteeism.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.00/hr.
