Summary:
Performs assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies, including modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, cables, and wire harnesses.
Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and power tools, jigs, and saws.
Conducts continuity checks, quality inspections, and may disassemble, rework, and test prototype or experimental assemblies.
Handles work with potential hazardous materials, including paint and chemicals.
Assemble mechanical and electronic subassemblies per diagrams, prints, and instructions.
Strip, crimp, solder, and assemble copper and coax wiring for cable harnesses.
Conduct in-process and final quality inspections per specifications.
Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test prototypes under simulated conditions.
Follow IPC 610/620 or IPC-WHMA-A-620 standards (preferred, not required).
Use hand tools, power tools, jigs, and saws; perform mechanical layouts.
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
Document work accurately and use a computer as required.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
High mechanical aptitude; hobbies or experience with soldering, models, or similar mechanical tasks considered a plus.
Experience with mechanical assembly, cable harnesses, and soldering.
Ability to follow processes and instructions accurately.
Strong reading, writing, and communication skills in English.
Must pass a medical exam.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
