Job Title: Machinist
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Machinist to set up, operate, and changeover various machining equipment such as Bridgeport style mills, lathes, and grinders with minimal supervision. This role involves working primarily with Mazaks, Ocuma, and Fanuc machines, focusing mainly on 5-axis and some 3-axis equipment.
Responsibilities
- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Utilize detailed setup sheets for the entire machining process.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media according to established guidelines and procedures.
- Based on documented setup instructions, select, align, and secure work-holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines to manufacture parts as drawing-specified.
- During setup, observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as needed.
- Perform part inspections by verifying the conformance of finished products to specifications using measuring and inspection tools.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines as per protocol.
Essential Skills- 4+ years of experience setting up and operating manual and CNC machines.
- Experience performing full process machining.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Ability to utilize math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, Cartesian coordinate system, and geometry.
- Ability to effectively utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, comparators, and dial indicators.
- Skill in reading and interpreting documents such as work orders, drawings, manuals, setup instructions, and safety regulations.
- Strong ability to work in a team-focused environment.
- Must be able to read and comprehend instructions as well as possess good oral communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience with Fanuc controls is preferred.
- Ability to train on days for a few weeks.

Work Environment
Our machining facility is climate controlled and staffed with approximately 68-69 people. We operate multiple shifts, including a first shift (M-F 6a-2:30p), a second shift with a 10 premium (2p-10:30p), a third shift with a 15 premium (M-Th 10p-8:30a), and a skeleton weekend crew with a 25 premium (Fri-Sun 6a-6:30p). Currently, there are openings on the second and third shifts, as well as the weekend crew. Work with renowned clients in a state-of-the-art facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, Missouri.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $37.00/hr.
