Job Title: Composite Technician
Job DescriptionAs a Composite Technician, you will be responsible for performing composite lay-up, fabrication, and assembly for a variety of composite parts used in aircraft. Your work will ensure the precise construction and integration of components in line with engineering and manufacturing specifications.
Responsibilities
- Lay out, assemble, pre-fit, and bond a variety of metal, composite laminate fabrications, assemblies, parts, skins, or equipment.
- Follow engineering and manufacturing specifications to determine parts to be bonded and the temperature and pressure required.
- Cut parts or materials to size and operate autoclave, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete the bonding cycle.
- Sand, burr, and smooth areas, applying sealing resins to cut or exposed edges.
- Perform complicated rework or repair and monitor and verify quality in accordance with controlled procedures.
- Utilize lay-up tools, including optical and hard tools, in the fabrication of composite and metal assemblies.
- Obtain necessary information from prints, charts, sketches, work orders, and other documents.
- Use shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to complete assignments.
- Verify work performed meets process and engineering specifications.
- Ensure equipment and tool certification occurs per procedure.
- Use and control solvents and cleaning solutions in the preparation for bonding and painting.
- Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of daily duties.
- Move products within the manufacturing work area and complete transactions necessary to move products to the next operation.
- Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training and assisting other employees.
- Train to become MVP qualified and perform additional duties as required by leadership.
Essential Skills- 4 - 5+ years of Aerospace/Aviation Composite Experience
- Composite Fabrication Experience
- Wet Layup/Composite Layup Experience
- Experience with hand tools and assembly processes
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience in an aerospace or aviation environment
- Ability to interpret blueprints and production documentation

Work Environment

This is a Contract position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.50/hr.
