Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical and mechanical assembly of precision components on the NASA SLS rocket project.
- Set up and operate machinery, including welding and sheet metal fabrication equipment.
- Perform composite lay-up, bonding, and structural assembly operations.
- Assemble and install wire harnesses, avionics systems, and electro-mechanical components.
- Conduct soldering operations on electronic and avionics products.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints and technical drawings for installation and integration tasks.
- Prepare and install test articles, fixtures, and data collection devices.
- Apply basic organic chemical conversion processes and corrosion-resistant coatings.
- Operate JLG lifts and perform work at elevated heights as required.
- Rotate through various functional areas across the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility (NOLA) based on project needs.
- On-site project-specific training will be provided for SLS integration tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of welding experience
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
- Comfortable working at heights; must be able to operate a JLG lift
- Electrical and mechanical assembly experience in an aerospace, manufacturing, or DoD-related environment
- Willingness to work on-site at the Michoud Assembly Facility (New Orleans, LA) as needed across various departments
