The Mission Enabling Products (MEP) Business Unit within the Intelligence Systems Division of Northrop Grumman is in search of a Gerber Operator - Manufacturing Technician 2 or 3 to join our team in San Diego.
The MEP Business Unit designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include satellites and associated space components and services, launch vehicles and related propulsion systems, missile products, subsystems and defense electronics, precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition, and advanced aerospace structures.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Handling and managing fragile composite materials. Prep, lay-up and bonding of composite products.
- Experience with layup of uni-directional and weave pre-pregs
- May report status/progress and interface with other employees and departments.
- Tooling preparation and release application.
- Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware.
- Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness.
- Execute to written instructions.
This position may be filled at EITHER a Level 2 or Level 3
Basic Qualifications for Level 2:
- A high school diploma and 4+ years of manufacturing experience may be considered in lieu of an Associates degree or Technical degree.
- Minimum of two years of experience, working with Gerber or Eastman pattern cutters and Cutworks software.
Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
- A high school diploma and 6+ years of manufacturing experience may be considered in lieu of an Associates degree or Technical degree.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience, working with Gerber or Eastman pattern cutters and cutworks software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree or 2 year Technical degree and 3 years minimum experience in a manufacturing environment.
- A minimum of 1 year of composite lay up experience preferred
Primary Level Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $83,300.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $59,300.00 - $98,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
