Position Summary:

The Lean Specialist III provides P3E consultation and support to Embraer warehousing facilities. This role is responsible for driving the development, implementation, and sustainment of Lean processes and systems to improve operational efficiency and eliminate waste across the organization. The position serves as the key liaison between the P3E Central Committee and Logistics operations. It requires deep expertise in Lean methodologies and the capability to lead complex, cross-functional improvement initiatives.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of Lean processes and systems across the organization, providing practical solutions to analytical and operational problems.
  • Support improvement project planning (A3, Kaizen, Yokoten, Project Chartering, probabilistic data projects, DMAIC).
  • Lead, promote, and standardize the use of core problem‑solving methodologies (A3, Kaizen, Yokoten, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, etc.).
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members on Lean principles, tools, and best practices.
  • Drive cross‑functional teams to implement improvements and increase operational efficiency.
  • Conduct periodic follow‑ups with project leaders to evaluate effectiveness and ensure sustainability of initiatives.
  • Conduct Lean assessments to identify improvement opportunities and develop targeted action plans.
  • Gather continuous feedback from all operational areas to proactively identify roadblocks and resolve issues quickly.
  • Use data analysis tools to measure Lean initiative effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Pull and analyze data to build dashboards that clearly communicate performance and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective, consistent application of Lean principles.
  • Develop and maintain Lean-related documentation, including SOPs and work instructions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Lean methodologies, acting as a resource for leadership and operational teams.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • (Preferred) master’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black belt or Master Black Belt preferred.


Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar improvement-focused role, preferably within the aviation sector.
  • Experience applying Lean principles in manufacturing or logistics environments preferred.
  • Proven track record of implementing Lean practices in cross-functional settings and delivering measurable results.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Deep understanding of Lean principles and methodologies (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, etc.) aligned with Embraer values.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills, capable of influencing leadership across multiple operational areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to propose and deliver solutions that increase operational efficiency through Lean strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to serve as a situational leader for Lean projects.
  • Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, ISO 18001, ISO 14000, ISO 9001, and DMAIC philosophies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and related digital tools.
