JOB SUMMARY:
Support the manufacturing inspection team lead and the manufacturing inspection team. Perform team lead duties in the team leads absence. Performs all duties and responsibilities of the inspection level 1 and 2. Will serve as acting Team Lead during periods of absence and has key role in supporting the growth and development of team members.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- Interpret data, CATIA models, company standards, work instructions, and perform necessary calculations, using shop math to conform detail parts, tooling, assemblies and installations and document results.
- Perform complete inspection of components, major assemblies, sub-assemblies, production tools or parts during manufacturing, modifications, repairs & installations to determine safety or conformity to approved data & company standards & specifications. Properly document findings and actions taken.
- Interpret and verify per complex data, engineering change orders and governmental regulatory procedures and specifications and properly document results.
- Apply technical knowledge in the fields of manufacturing and assembly, plumbing, electrical, etc. to determine conformity, approval for return to service, & airworthiness.
- Use precision measuring guides, gauges, and laboratory type instruments.
- Suggest dispositions of damaged or worn parts and the possibility of salvage based on company practices or procedures.
- Be familiar with relative FAA/EASA regulations and requirements.
- Prepare necessary customer and/or company documents.
- Complete and maintain reports and records as required.
- Assist other personnel on specific job assignments as requested by Quality Management.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- May perform inspections of incoming purchased parts and products.
- May perform inspections of outgoing parts and products shipped from DFJC.
- Assist in training less experienced inspectors.
- Must perform Team Lead duties and able to fully function as a Team Leader as needed.
NON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of aircraft experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control.
- Possess Metrology knowledge with experience using precision instruments, calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Must demonstrate leadership abilities to junior coworkers.
- Must show continuous improvement in Leadership capabilities.
- Desire and ability to demonstrate leadership capabilities and assist with the development and training of team members.
- Must possess well-developed critical thinking, logic, and analytical skills.
- Must be pro-active and team orientated.
- A strong working knowledge of computers and computer applications.
- Pass vision testing, minimum 20/20 corrected, and with no limitations in color perception.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Able to work unsupervised for periods of time.
- Able to work as team lead for periods of time.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normal working conditions would be in a controlled environment. However, the candidate could be required to work in an uncontrolled environment for short periods.
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and company safety regulations/procedures.

This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position because it includes as part of the essential job duties operating equipment and tools on a routine basis. Additionally, the duties of this position concern the service and completion of aircraft, and overall airworthiness of the aircraft. This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death. For the safety of this employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time while performing safety activities.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The compensation for this position typically falls between $31.00 and $40.11 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime. This position may be eligible for shift differential. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
