The Skilled Machinist is responsible for manufacturing, repairing, and modifying precision components used in aerospace applications. This position requires advanced knowledge of machining processes, materials, and aerospace quality standards to ensure all parts meet engineering specifications, FAA, and AS9100 requirements. The machinist will set up, program, and operate both CNC and manual equipment to produce high-quality, tight-tolerance parts in support of production and maintenance operations.
Set up and operate CNC and manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, and other precision machining equipment
Interpret complex aerospace blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications including GD&T.
Machine tight-tolerance parts using aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and nickel alloys.
Plan and perform setups, tooling selection, and machining operations with minimal supervision.
Program and edit CNC code (G/M code) and adjust offsets to ensure precision dimensions.
Inspect and verify finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and CMM (as applicable).
Document inspection results per AS9100 and internal quality control procedures.
Support the fabrication and repair of tooling, fixtures, and jigs used in aircraft component manufacturing or MRO operations.
Ensure compliance with all FAA, EASA, and internal safety and quality requirements.
Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and recommend process improvements.
Maintain clean, organized work areas and adhere to all 5S and safety policies.
