Manufacturing Engineer (GDS) M/F

What does the role look like?

This role sits within the Military Machining area of our Wolverhampton site, supporting critical manufacturing processes across the GDS value stream. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key part in supporting day-to-day operations, problem-solving, and driving process improvements to ensure quality and delivery targets are consistently met.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
•tProvide proactive line-side production support to meet business demands, working closely with Operations and Production Control teams.
•tSupport quality investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
•tHighlight, plan and deliver continuous improvement activities within the value stream.
•tApply tools such as PFMEA to reduce process risk and improve system performance.
•tManage relationships with equipment suppliers and support make-vs-buy decisions.
•tSupport manufacturing for military programmes.

Job Requirements:

What will you bring to the role?

Essential skills:
•\tExperience within a manufacturing environment.
•\tAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
•\tStrong communication and collaboration skills across multiple teams.

Desirable skills:
•\tExperience with CAD/CAM software such as Siemens NX.
•\tKnowledge of metrology, measurement methods, and the use of CMMs.
•\tFamiliarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
•\tExperience with Design for Manufacture and Automation principles.
