Job Description:

STS Technical Services is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer (Product Development) to support advanced aerospace manufacturing and new product industrialization programs in Stuart, Florida. This direct hire opportunity supports Daher Aerospace and focuses on engineering driven manufacturing solutions for complex aerospace structures.

This role is built for engineers who understand how designs become reality. If you are comfortable owning cost models, defining manufacturing processes, and industrializing large airframe structures from concept through production, this position puts you at the center of high impact aerospace programs.

Position Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer (Product Development) supports new product quotation, development, and sustaining programs for complex aerospace structures. This role plays a key part in cost estimation, manufacturing strategy, tooling definition, inspection planning, and industrialization readiness.

The ideal candidate brings hands on experience with large structural assemblies, determinate assembly methodologies, time computation, tooling strategies, and advanced manufacturing techniques, along with strong cross functional collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop accurate cost estimates and schedules in response to RFQs, including recurring and non recurring costs
  • Perform make or buy analyses to optimize cost, capacity, and resource utilization
  • Collaborate with design engineering, quality, procurement, suppliers, and customers
  • Review, comment on, and approve engineering drawings and technical data
  • Define manufacturing and inspection processes aligned with quality, cost, schedule, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Create and maintain manufacturing, repair, and inspection documentation
  • Develop manufacturing Bills of Material and detailed process plans
  • Support tooling design, validation, and procurement activities
  • Establish and optimize manufacturing times and industrialization cost models
  • Provide technical support during product development, production ramp up, and engineering changes
  • Lead resolution of manufacturing and quality issues using data driven problem solving
  • Participate in FMEAs, value analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support workstation layout design and production flow optimization
  • Assist with implementation and use of PLM, ERP, and manufacturing systems
  • Participate in prototype builds, production transfers, and innovation projects as required
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience required, with metals and or structures strongly preferred
  • Proven experience industrializing new products for large airframe structures
  • Strong working knowledge of determinate assembly, advanced manufacturing methods, tooling strategies, inspection planning, and time studies
  • Proficiency with CATIA
  • Experience using PLM systems, Teamcenter preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, manufacturing planning, and corrective action processes
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams
