Position Summary
Position Summary:Under direct supervision, the Manufacturing Engineer I is an entry level role that assists with designing, implementing, andreviewing manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment. Supports the manufacture and assembly of new and existingParker products typically in a single facility. Assists in developing improved manufacturing techniques, testing new systems andmethods for efficiency, and planning assembly layouts to optimize production, quality, cost, and safety.Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct or indirect reports.Essential Functions:Manufacturing Process Flow - Assists in the planning and design of manufacturing processes to improve the manufactureand assembly of new and existing products. Helps determine equipment, and tooling needed in order to achievemanufacturing goals according to product and quality specifications.Process Improvement - Assists in developing and implementing process improvement projects that focus onmanufacturing efficiency, material yield, safety, and cost. Engineering Design Support - Provides input to more senior engineers regarding design concepts and specificationrequirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.Regulatory Compliance – Helps ensure basic processes and procedures comply with regulations. Learns to apply frequentuse and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.Remediation - Investigates and makes recommendations for corrective action to ensure product quality and resolvequality issues.Performs additional responsibilities as assignedQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in related Engineering field with 0-2 years of experienceKnowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineeringAbility to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving of basic to moderate scope andcomplexityEffectively apply continuous improvement methods to quality and manufacturing functions (e.g. pull systems, processmapping, JIT)Knowledge of data structures and database programmingAbility to work effectively with CAD/CAM systems or other computer aided manufacturing systems, in addition tostandard business application software and/ or specialized data analysis toolsAbility to use existing procedures to solve problemsAbility to read and understand engineering drawings and specificationsWorking knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)Ability to research and analyze data effectively and draw valid conclusionsStrong verbal and written communication skillsWell-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-taskStrong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web
