Morson is currently recruiting an experienced Manufacturing Engineer on behalf of Safran Actuation Systems.
We’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to help shape the future of our manufacturing systems and processes. In this key technical role, you’ll be the link between our customers, suppliers, and internal teams—ensuring manufacturing is built into product design from the start. You’ll lead transfer projects, both internally and externally, technology introductions, manage complex improvement projects, and drive the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of our manufacturing systems.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a history of leading transfers, a strong engineering background, aerospace manufacturing experience, and a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
• Lead transfer activities of product from OE to Aftermarket, and also from outside of our company.
• Lead New Product Introductions (NPIs) and major manufacturing method changes.
• Lead the technical direction for manufacturing systems, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, cost, and compliance targets are met.
• Act as the main technical interface with customers, suppliers, and internal design teams to ensure products are designed for manufacture.
• Oversee manufacturing system design, including standard work, cell design, process simulation, and takt-based logistics.
• Apply elements of APQP, tools such as PFMEA to reduce process risk and improve system performance.
Essential skills:
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing, assembly, and test.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• HNC (apprentice-trained) or degree in Engineering/Manufacturing, or equivalent experience.
Desirable skills:
• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with Design for Manufacture/Automation.
• Project management qualifications (Prince 2, APMP).
• 2D drafting / 3D modelling
This is an assembly and skills-based role during a significant period of change — we’re looking for someone who can focus on transferring products from one facility to another and who can start and deliver results immediately.
We are seeking candidates with transfer experience of product in Aerospace and the ability to liaise effectively with programs teams on the transfer of assemblies.
