Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Bolton
Contract Type: 12-Month Contract (Full-Time, Onsite)
Rate: PAYE: 26.76/hr + holiday pay Umbrella: 35/hr
Clearance: SC required (can start on BPSS)
Morson is currently recruiting an experienced Manufacturing Engineer on behalf of our defence client based in Bolton.

Role Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineer within the Assembly and Integration team, you will play a key role in ensuring that products are built efficiently, safely, and to specification. Working as part of a multi-project manufacturing team, you’ll be responsible for the industrialisation and validation of processes, configuration control, and the continuous improvement of manufacturing instructions and tooling.
Key Responsibilities

Compile and update Manufacturing Instructions and related documentation.

Design, commission, and prove manufacturing tooling.

Support industrial validation through FMEA, FAI, and process verification activities.

Resolve technical problems during manufacturing and implement effective solutions.

Manage Configuration Control by embodying design modifications into production documentation.

Process route card changes and support non-conformance investigations using SAP.

Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Skills & Experience Required
-
Formal Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 and ONC Level 3)
OR HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline with practical experience
OR BEng in a relevant Engineering subject plus experience
OR Significant experience as a Manufacturing Engineer

Strong background in Assembly & Integration within Manufacturing, ideally Defence or Aerospace (other precision manufacturing sectors considered).

Proficient in SAP and experienced with FMEA, configuration control, and design modifications.

Skilled in interpreting design drawings to produce clear and concise Manufacturing Build Instructions.

Hands-on experience with Electronic Sub-Assembly manufacture through to System-level builds.

Familiar with assembly of Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work across departments.

Strong understanding of company processes, procedures, and quality standards.
