About the Role:
Wing is looking for a Manufacture Process Engineer Intern to join our Manufacturing Process / Lab team based in Palo Alto, CA. Our team is responsible for the development and deployment of manufacturing lines dedicated to the production of Wings operational drones. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with our manufacturing lab team and cross-functional teams to contribute to the following projects:
- Laboratory assembly process automation
- Develop an automated assembly process to enhance existing laboratory assembly procedures.
- Improve the assembly process by optimizing cycle time and yield rate.
- Documentation:
- Create and update technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), test plans, and design specifications for automation solutions.
- Continuous Improvement
- Perform process analysis (i.e. cycle time, FPY) in order to identify bottlenecks
- Perform root cause analysis and develop countermeasures
What You’ll Need:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field, graduating between December 2026 and August 2027
- Proficient in SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD software
- Project experience with at least one relevant programming/scripting language (Python, C++).
- Proficiency in practical laboratory procedures, including hardware testing and comprehensive failure analysis.
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative team with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
