Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Production/Manufacturing Technician with hands-on expertise in electro-mechanical assembly. This role is pivotal in the production of our drones and demands specialized skills in PCBA assembly, electronic potting, and adherence to strict manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex electro-mechanical assembly tasks independently using schematics, drawings, verbal or written instructions.
  • Assemble and test avionics components, including PCB assemblies, cable harnesses, and integrated modules.
  • Apply precision adhesives and bonding techniques.
  • Provide real-time design and assembly feedback to Manufacturing and Quality teams, escalating and resolving build issues through proper channels.
  • Follow detailed Manufacturing Process Instructions and strict safety procedures when building assemblies.
  • Meet aggressive deadlines and flexibly shift priorities across multiple projects.
  • Record and update data accurately.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical PCBA assembly experience.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, torque drivers, drills, and calipers.
  • Ability to read and follow basic SOPs and non-technical instructions.
  • Experience with cable and harness routing.
  • Familiarity with electronic potting processes.
  • Expertise in bonding composites, such as carbon fiber and epoxies.
  • Basic computer skills with MacOS or Microsoft.
  • Fabrication or assembly experience with sheet metal and tube assemblies.
  • Forklift or rigging experience for moving objects weighing 400+ lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Intermediate-level position requiring 2 - 3 years of experience.
  • Electro-mechanical or manufacturing assembly experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read diagrams and blueprints.
  • Soldering skills are a plus.
  • Problem-solving skills, good judgment, and proactivity.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Work Environment

This role is based in our facility in South San Francisco, within the Manufacturing team. The warehouse is divided into four areas: the Front Office, Nest (assembly of the recovery system, launch system, and battery device), Vehicles (assembly of the drone body and composite work on wing structures), and Logistics. Each team consists of 3 to 4 assemblers, plus a team lead. The work environment is dynamic, with a focus on collaboration and precision.

This is a Contract position based out of South San Francisco, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $33.00/hr.
