Location: Brunswick, GA Payrate: $30/hour plus per diem Schedule: Must be flexible and able to work OT, DT and holidays
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading force in the pulp, paper, and energy industries to find a skilled Millwright who thrives in hands-on, high-impact environments. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in keeping essential operations running safely, reliably, and efficiently—directly supporting the production systems that power everyday products and energy solutions.
What You’ll Do
As a Millwright, you’ll be at the heart of mill operations—installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex industrial machinery across pulping, stock prep, paper production, and finishing systems.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Installing, assembling, aligning, and maintaining equipment such as pumps, rollers, bearings, refiners, conveyors, gearboxes, dryers, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
Diagnosing mechanical issues through observation, sound, and precision measurement tools
Dismantling defective equipment, replacing worn components, and reassembling machinery using hoists, cranes, and tools
Performing precision alignment using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and levels
Setting and adjusting tolerances to meet operational standards
Executing preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime
Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
Performing welding, cutting, and basic fabrication as needed
Operating rigging and lifting equipment for installation or relocation of machinery
Maintaining inventory of parts, tools, and supplies
Documenting maintenance activities in CMMS systems or logs
Following strict safety protocols and PPE requirements in an industrial environment
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
Strong mechanical repair experience with rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical failures using inspection and precision tools
Proficiency in alignment, rigging, lifting, and mechanical assembly
Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication tools
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals
Comfortable working in hot, wet, confined, and noisy industrial environments
Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in pulp and paper, heavy manufacturing, or similar industrial settings
Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation
Formal training or certification in millwrighting or industrial maintenance

Pay Details: $30.00 per hour
