JOB SUMMARY:
Manages the operations of Backshops inspection activities. Establishes a strong cooperation with production teams to move efforts forward on continuous improvement and process control activities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Manage the inspection functions under a repair station, POA and PAH functions.
Evaluate inspection-finding trends that would impact negatively the quality of aircraft completions.
Ensure all managed activities comply with the Inspection Procedures Manual, Parts
Manufacturing Manuals, and other EASA accepted/approved documents.
Write Manuals, procedures and written instructions to document the quality system compliance to applicable required documents.
Provide timely and detailed information to management on the status of all areas under the managers control.
Ensure the proper equipment is available, maintained and calibrated for work performed by the nondestructive testing, calibration and tool certification sections.
Ensure the necessary documentation is correctly accomplished and maintained for all inspection activities.
Prepare and document annual budget and advice the VP of adverse spending trends. Provide recommendations on capital expenditure requirements.
Enforce all safety and proper housekeeping requirements in the managers respective areas of responsibility.
Reports to VP and ensures daily management of all QC Backshops, including offloaded activities, such as resources/workload and any overtime activities.
Establishes a frame work for the area managers to be successful in managing daily activities and developing talent in the Quality Organization.
Performs managerial duties such as hiring, terminating, evaluating the performance of and approving leave for subordinates.
NON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Manage special projects as assigned by Senior Management.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Aerospace, Business or related field; will substitute two years of directly related experience for one year of education.
Thorough knowledge of aircraft completion production and manufacturing operations.
Eight years of experience in aircraft manufacturing or related field, including five years experience as a Quality Control Supervisor or Manager in an aviation related environment.
Thorough knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations, FAA/EASA guidelines, service bulletins and airworthiness directives related with production facilities under the POA.
Well-developed critical thinking, logic and analytical skills.
Must possess above average verbal, written skills and interpersonal communication skills.
Must possess eyesight which can pass color and vision testing.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with foreign regulatory bodies.
Must be pro-active and team orientated.
Ability to work effectively with computers (Windows and Microsoft Office software).
AS9100 familiarization and/or training.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to work long distances, climb, and kneel for extended periods of time.
Travel required by surface and air, including international travel.
Normal office conditions plus must be able to function throughout total facility (up and down stairs and in and out of aircraft).
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The compensation for this position typically falls between $103,774.00 and $138.500.00 per year. This position is not eligible for overtime. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
