Location: Wolverhampton + regular international travel (mainly East Asia, occasional travel across Europe)

Rates: PAYE 45/hr + 6.54 holiday pay Umbrella 61.36/hr

This role offers a unique opportunity to play a key part in global manufacturing work transfers, ensuring that production capability, quality, and efficiency are successfully maintained as machining operations are relocated between international sites.

The position combines hands-on technical engineering with strategic project leadership, supporting the successful inload of machining and assembly processes from global facilities — primarily based in East Asia (Singapore) — into the client’s UK operation.

• Lead and deliver international work transfer projects — planning, coordinating, and executing the movement of production lines and machining capability into the UK site.

• Manage the end-to-end process from technical scoping and validation through to full production readiness.

• Apply strong machining expertise — including CNC, gear cutting, and prismatic component manufacturing.

• Drive problem-solving and continuous improvement, ensuring efficiency and process standardisation.

• Collaborate closely with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams across the UK, Europe, USA, and East Asia.

• Support knowledge transfer, process validation, and capability checks to ensure a smooth ramp-up.

We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Manufacturing Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, precision manufacturing environment and can balance shop-floor engagement with global project delivery.

Essential skills & experience:

• Proven experience in machining and precision manufacturing (CNC, gear cutting, prismatics).

• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Background in aerospace or similarly regulated, high-precision environments.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive, solution-focused mindset.

• Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 1 week per month, primarily to Singapore).

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma or formal project management training (PMP, PRINCE2).
