MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with preference in Mechanical, Engineering Technology or Aerospace Engineering (In lieu of degree, will consider a combination of education and 5 to 6 years of additional work experience to be equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.)
· 6 years in aerospace or related gear manufacturing industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and ability to articulate technical data and concepts to a wide audience of individuals of different technical backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize a variety of activities and tasks while dealing with change.
- Exhibits a disciplined approach in initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing tasks to achieve specific goals to specific success criteria.
· Proficiency with basic office computer software, specifically the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Previous experience with reading and interpreting spur, helical and spiral bevel engineering requirements, and familiarity with the different gear inspection methods.
· Previous experience with gear manufacturing process engineering or gear machining experience strongly preferred.
· Overall understanding of the different processes used to manufacture aerospace gears including (but not limited to): turning, milling, hobbing, shaping, broaching, grinding, heat treating, shot peening, and the various non-destructive inspection methods such as magnetic particle inspection and nital etch.
· Willingness to have a “hands-on” approach to solving problems.
