We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Welding Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a Welding Manufacturing Engineer, the candidate would support the welding operations and production of large complex assemblies. This position will work a 9/80 schedule and have every other Friday off.
In this role, the candidate must demonstrate a strong technical aptitude, a focus on quality, good communication skills, and be able to work cross-functionally within the operations organization and with other disciplines/functions. This position includes the following activities:
The Welding Manufacturing Engineer:- Develops processes for the fabrication, testing, weld integrity, accuracy, and delivery of products to our customers.
- Works cross functionally across multiple teams to support operations.
- Analyzes NDT inspection reports and data to understand root cause and provide repair plans to production.
- Researches and Recommends weld equipment and automation solutions to eliminate defects and drive consistency.
- Prepares and conducts weld engineering analysis of materials and procedures, engaged in weld procedure and performance qualifications.
- Uses knowledge of metallurgy, material weldability, welding robotics, and associated programming to improve existing processes or create new processes to increase delivery cadences.
- Reviews supplier capability and suitability to provide acceptable product and comply with government specifications.
- Develops or contributes to the creation of welding standards and specifications.
- Develops weld repair procedures as necessary.
- Addresses non-conformances and assists in Root Cause and Corrective Action activities.
- Develops and writes technical documentation, revises existing documentation, and provides input to technical papers or presentations.
- Ability to set up, organize, and populate Manufacturing Engineering production information using Microsoft Office suite applications.
- Develops work documentation including routings and work instructions to guide weld workforce how to perform welding tasks.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and apply welding specifications.
- A background in heavy fabrication and manufacturing is necessary to adjust priorities in a fast-paced environment.
