Test Technician

Job Description:

DPP is seeking a Test Technician for an opportunity in the civil aerospace industry.

Location: Onsite in West Lafayette, IN
Duration: 12 months, W2 position
Schedule: 1^st shift, 9 AM – 3 PM
Work authorization: US Citizen

Position summary:

As a Test Technician, you will perform skilled duties in the testing, troubleshooting, repair, harness build, operate and maintain real time simulator, PCB modifications, and calibration of equipment in the Electronics Lab; maintain such equipment.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience with PCB assembly, modification, and repair, including soldering of surface-mount and through-hole components.

Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled lab equipment maintenance to ensure working order
Perform product verification and validation testing
Diagnose electrical problems and troubleshoot how to correct them using wiring schematics, repair manuals, and part catalogs as necessary
Inspect and test equipment and components to diagnose malfunctions
Assists the Controls Engineer with developing, managing, and implementing projects as needed
Identify and implement improvements for test lab processes and fixtures
Support a safe, inclusive workplace where all team members value diversity and individual differences

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Knowledge of electronic test instruments and tools.
Knowledge of inventory control and tracking methods.
Knowledge of electrical schematics, and wiring guides
Electronic soldering and printed circuit board repair skills
Assembly of electrical test and instrumentation equipment
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Experience with IPC Electronics Manufacturing Acceptability Standards.
Experience with Electro-static Discharge (ESD) protection.
Experience with asset and facilities management.
Problem solving techniques and Root Cause Analysis
Familiarity with cable/harness fabrication, manual soldering

Education:

High School Diploma or GED. OR
Associate degree with 2 plus years of experience OR
Technical Degree, or equivalent combination of experience and education
