Senior Technical Writer- Aerospace Process Documentation

$49.53-$64.90/Hour

Responsibilities:

• Lead efforts to enhance and simplify technical process documentation across business units to improve clarity, usability, and cross-functional integration.

  • Analyze existing documents for structure, readability, and content accuracy; revise and reorganize content for clarity and consistency.

  • Apply plain language principles and incorporate visuals (tables, figures, images) to aid reader comprehension.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across departments to gather input, validate changes, and ensure alignment with process architecture.

  • Develop and maintain documentation aligned with evolving business process swim lanes, with a long-term roadmap spanning multiple years.

  • Support continuous improvement of documentation standards, templates, and authoring processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and typically 10+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 3–5 years of experience in technical writing, including authoring or revising process documentation.

• Aerospace or aviation industry experience.

• Technical process knowledge in any discipline (3–5 years).

• Preferred:

  • Familiarity with manufacturing or quality operations.

  • Project management experience.

  • Exposure to or interest in generative AI tools and their application in documentation.
