New York Power Authority

Power Authority of the State of New York, doing business as The New York Power Authority, engages in the generation, transmission, and sale of electricity in the state of New York. As of April 16, 2010, the company operated 17 generating facilities and approximately 1,400 circuit-miles of transmission lines. It primarily serves municipal and rural cooperative electric systems, investor-owned utilities, high-load-factor industries and other businesses, public corporations, and certain out-of-state customers. The company was founded in 1931 and is headquartered in White Plains, New York.
