Job Title: 2nd Shift Repair Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on performing repair, overhaul, and assembly work in a regulated aviation maintenance environment on the 2nd shift. You will use hand and power tools to assemble and repair small parts and final assemblies, contributing to high-quality maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for aviation components.
Responsibilities
- Perform repair and overhaul tasks on aviation components in accordance with established procedures and regulatory standards.
- Assemble final products, fins, and small parts using appropriate tools, fixtures, and work instructions.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete mechanical assembly and repair tasks.
- Inspect parts and assemblies for accuracy, fit, and quality, identifying and reporting any defects or discrepancies.
- Follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and specifications to ensure proper assembly and repair of components.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the repair shop at all times.
- Collaborate with team members and support staff to ensure timely completion of repair and assembly work.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment and compliance with shop safety rules.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by following best practices and suggesting process improvements when appropriate.
- Work 2nd shift hours and be available for occasional Saturday work and extended shifts as needed to meet production demands.
Essential Skills
- Experience with mechanical assembly in a repair, machine shop, or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for assembly and repair tasks.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including the ability to understand how parts fit and function together.
- Experience working with repair parts and small part assembly.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions, drawings, or specifications accurately.
- Capability to perform final assembly and fin assembly work.
- Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift (approximately 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.) and occasionally up to 12-hour days, Monday through Friday, with Saturdays as needed.
- Commitment to safety practices in a repair shop environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in aircraft repair, aviation MRO, or a similar regulated maintenance environment.
- Experience in final assembly, fin assembly, or small part assembly within an industrial or aerospace setting.
- Experience working in a machine shop environment.
- Possession of an A&P license is a plus.
- Familiarity with aviation industry standards and quality requirements is beneficial.

Work Environment
You will work in a temperature-controlled repair shop designed for aviation maintenance and overhaul activities. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from approximately 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with the possibility of extended shifts up to 12 hours per day and occasional Saturday work based on operational needs. The environment involves regular use of hand tools and power tools, mechanical assembly stations, and handling of small parts and assemblies. Steel-toed shoes are required as part of the dress code, and you will follow all safety and shop protocols while working on the 2nd shift.
