programming, and will refurbish and repair all tooling and equipment as needed. They will also help identify, implement, and train operators
on standard work and best practices.

Job Description

Shop Support:

  • Respond to Maximo work order requests and update Maximo system with results of investigation and/or corrective actions.
  • Propose/develop/implement tooling improvements and generate drafting requests for tooling modifications with process/product owners/tool room as needed.
  • Propose/develop/implement CNC programming improvements of existing programs.
  • Develop new CNC programs for process improvement and/or new processes as needed.
  • Support site process owners on projects and process setups/changes to ensure conformance to drawing requirements and GE spec requirements.
  • Supports tool testing of new tooling or improved tooling and documents results to validate tooling.
  • Utilize tool room processes and resources for tooling modifications.
  • Perform other tasks/projects to support technical team as needed.
  • Identify and monitor production machine parameters to ensure process consistency and repeatability.
  • Complete monitoring of product/batch quality on applicable inspection equipment to verify process conformance and capability.
  • Ensures production processes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Identify machine faults and respond with necessary corrective action.
  • Report faults and equipment breakdowns to operations team to provide awareness of issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in the operation.
  • Contribute to daily tech support meeting

Standard Work and Best Practice Facilitation:

  • Identify and implement standard work and best practices across shop.
  • Train team members on best practices

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Ability to be punctual and attend work on a regular and consistent basis
  • The person in this position needs to wear appropriate PPE for the respective environment (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toe shoes, etc.)
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally will be expected to lift large materials not to exceed 50 pounds
  • Flexible to work overtime as needed

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Must be able to demonstrate complete setup of machine, basic programming, and offsetting techniques
  • Must understand GD&T and how it is applied to our product

Desired Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of CNC programming experience
  • Associates Degree in Machine Tool & Die
  • Familiarity with NX CAD & CAM systems
  • Familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Understands cutting tools and how they are applied
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent troubleshooting/problem solving skills
  • Motivated self-starter with team values
  • Capable of adapting/learning to new machining processes and different machine controls
