Morson Talent are currently recruiting for Airframe Fitters on behalf of our client Marshall Aerospace for rolling contracts based in Cambridge. This opportunity follows the recent sale of a substantial portion of a former C-130 Hercules fleet and aligns with their significant workforce expansion plans to support the transition of these aircraft to their new owner.
5x5x4 shift pattern however you may be required to work 2 weeks of standard days during your induction period.

What are we looking for
To carry out maintenance, modifications and repairs to aircraft structure & mechanical systems in accordance with work card instructions and relevant controlled technical documentation.
Actively support, promote and contribute to continuous improvement ideas and activity to ensure that progressive gains in efficiency are maintained.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out maintenance tasks on aircraft/components in accordance with approved documentation.
- Comply with HSE and airworthiness regulations and requirements.
- Work in accordance with company procedures to ensure compliance with requirements associated with the role, eg, tool control, document control, system updates and certification.
- Booking and accounting for time
- Working to and maintaining a high standard of workmanship
Tasks:
- Removal and instillation of components, parts and panels from the aircraft including in fuel tanks and other confined spaces.
- As part of the Maintenance Team, assist in moving, jacking and trestling aircraft.
- Clean aircraft, aircraft equipment, components, parts, or tools to enable inspection, repair or maintain them in good working order.
- Carry out repairs to aircraft structure, parts and components as required.
- Apply protective coverings to objects or surfaces near work areas.
- Refit or replace defective parts, using hand tools or power tools.
- Assist in the test of aircraft parts with gauges and other instruments.
- Read work orders or descriptions of problems to determine repairs or modifications needed.
- Read and interpret manufacturers’ instructions to identify repair specifications.
- Ensure proper completion of aircraft records (e.g. work cards, non-routines and other related documents) at the end of every shift.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, or diagrams to inform installation, development, or operation activities.
- Operate cranes, hoists, or other moving or lifting equipment.
- Order materials, supplies, or equipment.
- Communicate with coworkers to coordinate installations or repairs.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisors or Line Managers
Qualifications
Completion of a recognised Engineering apprenticeship or a relevant higher education qualification
Experience of Engineering within a maintenance environment
The ability to work individually as well as within a team across all functions on site, demonstrating a pro active and flexible attitude and supporting business targets and Company goals
You must have an eye for Continuous Improvement”
Attention to detail and be self-motivated
Enthusiastic attitude, coupled with good teamwork & communication skills
GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English
Good knowledge of H & S Legislation and some knowledge of COSHH
Will need to provide HF, EWIS and FTS certs if offered.
Preferred experience but not essential:
Experience performing maintenance in the following areas on large transport aircraft (maintenance checks, engine changes, gear changes, structural repairs, flight control rigging, component maintenance)
Electrical Qualification advantageous
