What Youll Get to Do
Reporting directly to the Base Engineer and taking direction from the on-shift Crew Chief, an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Apprentice assists the licensed AME with the maintenance, service, inspection, and diagnostics of Aircraft engines (including propellers and rotors). This also includes electrical systems, components, and accessories on the aircraft.
- Carry out line and heavy maintenance
- Interpret technical drawings as required
- Handle daily flight snags
- General duties related to hangar and equipment upkeep
- De-icing duties as required
- GSE Repairs and Servicing as required
- Participation in the Safety Management System
- Maintain all assigned training required within job role
- Other duties as assigned
Hours of Work
- Shift work is required and may include mornings/afternoons, evenings, nights, and weekends
Skills & Experience We Value
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Must provide proof of completion of approved training in the form of a diploma with valid TCCA approval number
- Basic Computer skills (word, excel, office)
- Knowledge of an airline’s operations an asset
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Must be able to work independently or in a team setting
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Travel may be required
- Ability to lift 75lbs
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Security Clearance qualification
- Inuktitut language considered an asset
- Preference given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries
