As a Technician, you will wire and commission electrical and pneumatic automated control systems. You will build control panels according to schematics and collaborate with external vendors for panel construction and installation. Your role involves modifying and updating existing tooling, troubleshooting simple PLC software, and redlining electrical and pneumatic schematics for automated tooling. You will own installations and perform early risk mitigation through daily communication with engineering, customers, and other concerned teams. Additionally, you will promote 5S principles to organize and sustain efficient and presentable team workspaces.

Responsibilities

  • Build control panels per schematics.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to build and install panels.
  • Modify and update existing tooling.
  • Troubleshoot simple PLC software.
  • Redline electrical and pneumatic schematics for automated tooling.
  • Own installations and perform early risk mitigation through daily communication with engineering, customers, and other teams.
  • Promote 5S principles of organizing and sustaining efficient and presentable team workspaces.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Occupational trade school qualification in an electrical based field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NFPA 79 & UL508A codes
  • Experience in a production environment, particularly related to automation technology
  • Demonstrable hands-on skill in fault finding, problem resolution
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Experience in building multiple panels, following drawing sets, back to back
  • PLC & HMI programming experience
  • Electrical schematic drawing experience
  • Excellent skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Understanding of agile workflow and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, able to lead/supervise a team

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brownsville, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
