Job Description

This role focuses on wiring, commissioning, and maintaining electrical and pneumatic automated control systems in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. You will build and modify control panels, support automation tooling, and collaborate closely with engineering, production, and external vendors to ensure reliable, high-quality automation solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Wire and commission electrical and pneumatic automated control systems to meet performance and safety requirements.
  • Build control panels from schematics, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to relevant codes and standards.
  • Work with external vendors to coordinate the build, delivery, and installation of control panels and related equipment.
  • Modify and update existing tooling and automated equipment to improve functionality, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Modify and troubleshoot simple PLC software to resolve issues and support process improvements.
  • Redline electrical and pneumatic schematics for automated tooling to reflect as-built conditions and design changes.
  • Own installation activities end to end and perform early risk mitigation through daily communication with engineering, customers, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Promote and practice 5S principles to organize, maintain, and sustain efficient, safe, and presentable team workspaces.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation systems to diagnose faults and implement effective repairs.
  • Support robotics and automated equipment maintenance to maximize uptime and equipment performance.
  • Use electrical schematics and drawings to guide installation, troubleshooting, and panel-building activities.
  • Document work performed, updates to designs, and changes to equipment in a clear and organized manner.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments, aligning differing priorities to achieve common project and production goals.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and supervision when required to guide team members through builds, installations, and troubleshooting tasks.
Essential Skills
  • Occupational trade school qualification in an electrical-based field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NFPA 79, and UL508A codes.
  • Proven experience in a production environment, particularly involving automation technology.
  • Demonstrable hands-on skill in fault finding and problem resolution across electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude for working with tooling, equipment, and automated systems.
  • Experience building multiple control panels back to back while following complete drawing sets.
  • PLC programming experience, including basic modification and troubleshooting of PLC logic.
  • HMI programming experience to support automation interfaces and operator controls.
  • Electrical schematic drawing experience and the ability to interpret and redline schematics.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to bring multiple departments together to achieve shared goals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for documentation, reporting, and presentations.
  • Understanding of agile workflow and continuous improvement practices in a technical or production setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to lead and supervise a team in a hands-on environment.
  • Troubleshooting skills in PLCs, automation systems, robotics, and maintenance activities.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from schematics and technical documentation.
  • Experience with maintenance and repair of automated equipment and control systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Occupational trade school qualification in an electrical-based field is highly advantageous.
  • Exposure to robotics and automated machinery in a production or industrial setting.
  • Experience collaborating with external vendors on panel builds, installations, and commissioning.
  • Familiarity with 5S and other lean or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Comfort working across disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation, redlining, and design updates.
  • Interest in working with cutting-edge automation and aerospace-related technologies.
  • Capability to adapt quickly to new tools, processes, and technologies.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
