Mission:

To inspect parts, audit process, and create documents to support the Investment Casting Process and ways to improve it. To work with Engineer and Operations in support of devising new methods and/or procedures and major projects. To inspect castings, record findings, and raise awareness for casting issues. To work with Engineering and Operations to audit and provide guidance to floor personnel.

Principal Accountabilities:
1. Inspects part at various points of the process, to record defect data, alert Eng and ops to part and process issues, and quarantine parts requiring further evaluation.
2. Auditing of the rework teams conformance to tech cards/QCM/PCP/SOPS and training on any findings
3. Create and Submit to supervision performance feedback on back-end operators when needed.
4. Creating and updating quality/process alerts, SOP’s/PCP (with input from Engineering), and other manufacturing work inductions and aids as needed.
5. Auditing the shop for process, safety, and quality compliance.
6. Plans, schedules and completes small to medium sized projects to improve safety, quality and throughput. Determines procedures, schedules and manpower requirements. Coordinates activities with other plant resources.
7. Gathers, records, analyzes and summarizes data in various formats, prepares technical reports of results, evaluates projects, goals and processes.
8. Provides technical assistance and leadership to Technician’s I & II.
9. Work with backend teams to route projects parts and reduce BE rework, scrap and reHT’s due to workmanship issues or non-robust processes.
10. Helps train and provided feedback to floor personnel on process issues and new process/procedures.
11. When requested by the Process Control manager, perform all duties of the certification level the technician holds.
12. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
1. 4-5 years prior relevant experience OR A.S. or A.A. degree and 2-3 years of specific relevant technical experience OR B.S. degree with 1-2 years of specific relevant experience OR equivalent training and experience.
2. Considerable knowledge of and familiarity with the Investing Casting process
3. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Special emphasis given to skills in giving constructive crisis and feedback/coaching.
4. Computer skills including use of Microsoft office. Must be comfortable learning new computer programs with minimal support.
5. Ability to create and maintain work instruction documents under general directions and to complete work independently.
6. Ability to plan, schedule, evaluate and coordinate designated projects.
7. Ability to drive a forklift, work a pallet jack, and use a hoist.
8. Willingness to take PCC training courses related to the processing of castings (i.e. Rework Analyst class, NDT classes, etc.)
9. Willingness to work flexible hours as needed by projects, off shift inspection/training, and Post Hip Inspection needs
10. Ability/Willingness to travel to other plants for benchmarking and process improvement needs.
11. Advanced Grinder skills as demonstrated by the competent performance of a rework grinder duties and/or experience in Visual/Dimensional duties. Welding experience is desired but not required.
12. 20/20 vision (either natural or corrected) required
