Battery Test TechnicianJob Description
Join our dynamic team as a Manufacturing Test Technician, where youll play a crucial role in testing and supporting our innovative battery systems. This is a 6-month contract position in San Mateo, CA!
Responsibilities
- Conduct battery tests, including connecting and disconnecting batteries from equipment.
- Interact with systems using command-line inputs in terminal on macOS or Linux.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed when working around power supplies, electrical loads, and batteries.
- Log and capture data on computers and compile it for the battery team.
- Provide lab support, including assembling fixtures, fabricating components, and setting up test configurations.
- Assemble 80/20 fixtures, secure components, and duplicate test setups.
- Utilize soldering experience when necessary.
- Work with batteries and fabrication tools such as band saws.
Essential Skills- Basic familiarity with running computer code over terminal, ability to collect test data and summarize results.
- Familiarity with lab safety, basic troubleshooting, and data acquisition, especially around electronics equipment.
- Experience with through-hole soldering and basic wiring/connectorizing.
- Experience with basic hand fabrication using power tools, drill press, and saws.
- Ability to independently and autonomously complete tasks based on broad priorities and prior knowledge.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience working with and testing LiPo batteries.
- Experience with 3D printers.
- Experience with SMT soldering and making custom harnesses.
- Experience with standard shop tools.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
