Job Description:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Bid Officer to join the team with our prestigious client at their site in Stevenage
Job Duties:
- Research, analyse, and evaluate bid opportunities within the aerospace and aviation industry
- Prepare and submit bid proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and deadlines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and develop bid strategies
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients, competitors, and industry trends
- Review and interpret bid documents, contracts, and specifications
- Coordinate and participate in bid meetings, both internally and with clients
- Prepare and maintain bid documentation, records, and databases
- Assist in pricing and cost estimation for bid proposals
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements
- Monitor and track the progress of bids, providing regular updates to stakeholders
- Support the negotiation and closing of contracts
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the bid management process
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in bid management or a similar role within the aerospace and aviation industry
- Strong understanding of bid processes, including proposal development, pricing, and contract negotiation
- Excellent analytical and research skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in using bid management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Engineering, Aviation Management)
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in bid management or a related role
- Prior experience within the aerospace and aviation industry is highly desirable
Knowledge and Skills:
- Deep knowledge of the aerospace and aviation industry, including key players and market dynamics
- Understanding of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications related to bid management or aviation industry
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
Working Conditions:
- Office-based role located in Stevenage, Hertfordshire
- May require occasional travel to meet with clients or attend industry events
- Work hours typically follow a standard full-time schedule
- May involve working under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations
