Job Description
Business Support Officers (BSO) are functionally responsible to the Senior Business Support Officer (SBSO) and operationally responsible to Head of Operational Training Delivery through the TTF
Support Team Lead. Undertake a range of administrative activities to assist in the smooth and efficient running of the TyTAN programme.
Key Responsibility Areas
The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role. The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following:
Provide a proactive and comprehensive Business Support Service across the TyTAN programme within their various buildings.
Undertake the general administration tasks to support the smooth running of the office including, but not limited to stationery, site and building visits, and room bookings.
Access control to TyTAN buildings and undertake induction briefs for visitors/employees.
Maintenance and storage of documents and data in line with our Document Creation and Retention policy.
Maintain a proactive response to enquiries and exchanging of information when dealing face to face with customers, stakeholders and visitors.
Ensuring query resolution is dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
Assist the office in maintaining a cost effective environment.
Understand your obligations under SHE and how they affect you/and other Business Support Team.
Run reports e.g. workforce manager, understand and transfer data into alternative formats as appropriate.
Contribute to the creation of presentation material, including formatting and collation.
Training course administration in accordance with policies and procedures.
Essential/Desirable
- Understanding of confidential/sensitive information, maintained in line with company policy/procedure
- Understanding of the Company, its structure and relevant procedures
- Understanding if the different Functions
- Working knowledge of BAEs recognised tools including, but not limited to Success Factors. SharePoint, FlightPro, Electronic Visitors System (EVMS) and WorkForce Manager (WFM)
- Recognised qualification to NVQ/QCF Level 2 in a relevant discipline, or suitable equivalent.
Knowledge
- Previous experience of working in an Administrative/Secretarial type role
- Understand your obligations under SHE and how it affects you/the office
- Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications e.g. Outlook, PowerPoint Excel and Word

Additional Information
WORKING HOURS – ON BASE
- 5 days p/wk (Mon-Fri) around relevant site core hours (7.00am –
4.00pm Mon – Thurs, 7.00am – 12pm Fri).

The Individual Requirements
4.00pm Mon – Thurs, 7.00am – 12pm Fri).
- Hours required to work per week are 37.00 unless otherwise stated
(this does not include lunch breaks).
- Start and finish times to be agreed with local Line Management, in
accordance with local site core hours.
- Lunch break allowance is 30 minutes between 12.30 – 1:00pm (or as
agreed with Line Manager). 30 mins will automatically be deducted
each working day by the electronic time management system (WFM).
- Dependant on workload, local management may request more or
less hours are worked within this contract.
