Launched 50 years ago out of Canada’s Okanagan Valley, KF has grown to specialize in a wide range of aviation services including maintenance and modifications, air cargo operations, military pilot training and aircraft leasing..  At our facility in Southport, Manitoba, we support the Royal Canadian Airforce (RCAF) by providing state-of-the-art Pilot training. 

JOB OVERVIEW

A Ground Handler position is an ideal job for individuals interested in being involved in the aviation industry but have no formal education or training. As a term position with a competitive wage, this is also a great opportunity for a summer job for college student. 

The Ground Handler is responsible for the towing and grooming of company aircraft that are used for flight training by the RCAF. 

Details:

• Towing aircraft in compliance with all company operating and safety procedures.
• Assisting with the fueling of aircraft as required.
• Washing and grooming of aircraft.
• Assisting mechanics with general hangar maintenance.
• Communicating effectively with all points of contact throughout shift. 
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS 

• Valid Manitoba Driver’s License.
• Grade 12 graduate preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Works well within a team as well as unsupervised.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Basic computer and math skills
• Able to communicate in a professional manner.
• Physically fit and able to carry up to a minimum of 50 lbs. 
• Positive attitude. 
• Ability to work a rotating shift including days, afternoons, evenings and some weekends.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Works and Government Services Enhanced Reliability Clearance.
