Let your career take flight by joining our diverse and vibrant team at the leading edge of passenger aviation.Reporting to the Specialist, Cabin Operations Standards, the incumbent acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provides Cabin Safety expertise for all cabin safety procedures and projects, including the introduction of aircraft, aircraft modification and cabin furnishings/equipment. The incumbent also provides cabin safety expertise and liaises with various internal branches such as Cabin Engineering, AC Maintenance, Marketing and In-Flight Service.
In consultation with other internal branches, the Cabin Operations Standards Advisor develops and maintains the Flight Attendant Manual (Part A) and the Carry-On Baggage Control Program, as required by operational, corporate and federal policies and in accordance with the prescribed regulatory requirements. The incumbent is responsible for the regulatory compliance of cabin safety publications, including standard operating procedures (SOPs).The Cabin Operations Standards Advisor works within a team and manages cabin safety communication tools and/or initiatives, as delegated by the Specialist, Cabin Operations Standards.

Project ManagementParticipate in aircraft visits for the introduction or modification of aircraft and/or assess new safety equipment installation to ensure regulatory complianceDevelop and maintain a detailed cabin safety project workplanAttend inter-branch project meetingsCoordinate meetings with various branches and stakeholdersDevelop cabin crew positions and emergency responsibilities according to Engineering drawings/instructions and Manufacturer minimum crew requirementsEnsure regulatory compliance in the development and maintenance of the pre-recorded announcements module (PRAMs) and Passenger Safety Video for each aircraft typeParticipate in Cabin Safety risk assessments for the introduction or modification of new safety equipment, aircraft introduction and other procedural changes as a Cabin Safety SMEDraft project requests for Cabin EngineeringInitiate/coordinate projects that enhance and advance Cabin Safety initiatives
Document ManagementDevelop and effectively maintain the Flight Attendant Manual (Part A), as delegated by the Senior Manager, Cabin Operations & Regulatory Compliance (Flight Attendant Manager) and in keeping with Transport Canada’s TP12295Develop and effectively maintain mandatory regulated publications, as part of a detailed cabin safety project workplan, ensuring compliance with other publications effected by amendments or revisions.Develop and maintain an accurate versioned index of all Cabin Safety documentation in the various repositories (globe, ACAeronet, etc.) of the following documents (not limited to):Safety Equipment Checklist(s)Safety Features Card(s)Safety Video segment templatePre-Recorded Announcement(s)Pre-Flight Briefing FormPassenger Count Form(s)Prepared Emergency Landing Card(s)Cabin Safety Business Processes
Develop and maintain the Passenger Count forms following changes in aircraft configurationSupport in the development of other safety forms related to cabin crew functionsEnsures regulatory compliance of the safety features cards for each aircraft typeDesign and maintain of the safety equipment checklists according to engineering drawing/instructions and new/revised aircraft drawings (LOPA) in accordance with the regulatory requirementsCross-reference and maintain all regulatory publications in the Cabin Safety Library, such as FOM, MEL, ePub and Cabin Crew Training ProgramsLiaise with internal branches to ensure the correct loading of the safety features card onboard aircraftLiaise with external service providers to ensure documents are maintained and ordered according to branch needs and in keeping with Air Canada’s document management policyUnder the authority of the Flight Attendant Manager, and as required by Canadian Aviation Regulation 705.135 ensure all parts of the manual are consistent and compatible in form and content. QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or the equivalent; equivalent & relevant professional experience may be considered Flight Attendant background an assetMaintain fluent knowledge base of the Canadian Aviation Regulations, Commercial Air Service Standards, and Canada Labour code – Part II, Information System, Security, Dangerous Goods, Crew Resource Management, and Canadian Transportation Agency regulatory requirements.Appropriate operational experience (Crew Resource Management, Cabin Crew) combined with expertiseBroad knowledge of the business/industry to propose and to implement multiple solutions to complex/issue.Safety mindednessSolid judgment and ability to assess operational situations combined with excellent problem-solving skills.Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
