ABOUT THE ROLE

An Industrial Pyrometer / Meter Lab technician performs a variety of tasks associated with certifying and calibration of devices and process equipment. They install, repair, inspect, calibrate, and maintain measurement devices. These devices include, but not limited to, pyrometers, personal monitors, pressure gages, temperature gages, temperature controllers, flow gages, and Rockwell hardness testers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and certify thermocouples
  • Perform Temperature Uniformity Surveys (TUS)
  • Perform analysis of temperature data
  • Perform certification/calibration tasks according to procedures
  • Maintain databases in compliance to quality system requirements for certification and calibration of devices.
  • Perform basic equipment servicing (cleaning, lubrication, coolant, filters, etc.)
  • Clean facility and production equipment (internal/exterior surfaces, contaminants - residues/oil/dirt/chips, etc.)
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • 3 years of experience working in Electronics & Calibration; or a degree/certificate in an electronics/calibration related field of study
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Basic reading and writing skills
  • Math skills that demonstrate a basic understanding of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
  • Basic computer skills - locate/open files, send/receive emails, process/enter details in service reports
  • Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures and use measurement devices
  • Ability to use transportation equipment to deliver and retrieve material, personnel, and toolboxes at job sites
  • Ability to work at elevation (ladders, lifts, scaffolding)
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds
  • Ability to address problems methodically to identify causes and take appropriate actions to correct defects
  • Ability to select and utilize the appropriate tools the performance of job tasks. This position will utilize tools such as, but not limited to: hand tools, corded/cordless tools, multi-meters, torque wrenches, pressure gages, dial indicators and other similar tools
