The Cargo Coordinator will report to the Logistics Officer. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the efficient and timely movement of Cargo via passenger flights as well as freighter flights. The Cargo Coordinator will work with the Ground Handling Agent to ensure that operational services are contracted to the standards outlined in the Service Level Agreements (SLA) and provide sales support. The Cargo Coordinator is also responsible for ensuring station compliance with regulatory authorities.
KEY DELIVERABLES
REPORTING: Ensures the delivery of accurate and timely operational and other reports, with a view to supporting effective data analysis and decision-making.
OPERATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS: Ensures effective and efficient utilization of assigned resources towards achieving operational goals and standards.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Ensures that there is constant engagement with the existing customer base to enhance customer experience, deliver excellent service and achieve customer satisfaction
SAFETY AND REGULATORY COMPLIANCE: Execute corporate safety, security and quality policies to ensure all stakeholders are fully compliant with all regulatory requirements, operational and quality standards.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
You are required to have at least three (3) years’ experience in an operations and customer service function in the cargo industry, preferably in the airline industry. You must also possess a High School Diploma and be proficient in the use of MS Office Suite with particular emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You must have knowledge of reservations systems (in particular Cargo Spot) and in-depth knowledge of cargo operations and procedures. Certification in Lean Six Sigma Green belt will be considered an asset.
You must exhibit a strong customer orientation while focusing on profitability and productivity and excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization. You must possess strong influencing skills, leadership ability and an innovative mindset. Knowledge of customs operations, IATA, FAA, FDA, TSA, TTCAA and/or any other regulatory requirement framework, supervisory experience and experience in the aviation industry will be regarded as an asset.
You will be employed on a shift basis. Each working week comprises of various shifts in accordance with the rotational requirements of the department for that week to meet business demands as approved by the Company’s duly authorized Manager.
