Job Description:
YOUR ROLE
As a Cargo/ramp Assistant Supervisor, in collaboration with the other team members, you will contribute to the successful conduct of ground activities around the operating aircraft involving arrivals-departures, guiding, towing, refueling, handling of luggage, handling of cargo, accompaniment of passengers and of the flight crew, and actively participate in offering the most pleasant experience to our customers. You will assist the cargo/ ramp supervisor to oversee daily ramp operations and ensure safety procedures are followed according to company policies and government regulations. You will plan and direct loading and unloading tasks, assist with training new employees on equipment, ramp safety procedures, scheduled work and prepare various relevant reports for management. You will participate in the preparation of the work schedules for the cargo/ramp attendants. You will conduct general upkeep of ground equipment maintenance, building maintenance, monitor and fill-out the appropriate documents and reports for maintenance work when necessary. Assist the Cargo/Ramp Supervisor with additional related tasks.
Job Requirements:
DO YOU HAVE THE PROFILE?
• Secondary school diploma (DES)
• Minimum of 3 years as Ramp Agent experience. Ramp Lead experience is an asset.
• You are recognized for your punctuality and understand the importance of safety and the risks associated with work accomplished on the ramp.
• You have Leadership skills; you can direct the loading and unloading of cargo or baggage into the aircraft, direct aircraft on the apron, check to make sure staff complies with all company procedures, airport, and Transport Canada regulations.
• You take initiative and have a sense of responsibility.
• You are motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic and contribute positively to the team spirit.
• You have good physical capacity and like working outside.
• You have excellent time management and planning skills.
• You are bilingual (French-English). Knowledge of the Cree culture and language is an asset.
• You have a valid driver’s licence;
• You have a D/A permit to drive vehicles on airside ;
• You are available during the week and on weekends (days-evenings).
