Job Description:
Job Summary: Ensure safe shipment of all aircraft landing gear components by building custom crates to be shipped across the country and overseas. Perform general preventative building maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build shipping crates according to product specification
- Utilize common manual and power tools
- Measure and cut wood, foam and harnesses
- Operate a forklift
- Scrap unusable inventory
- Perform some preventative building maintenance that does not require a licensed professional
- Manages small projects without supervision
- Effectively communicate with coworkers and vendors
- Perform additional duties as directed by the Supervisor
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or an Equivalent
- Forklift certified
- Successfully completed 90 days with proven ability to use any job-related tools properly and safely, follow instruction, and work independently
- Proficient in the English language
- Occasional overtime
- This position is safety sensitive and is subject to drug and alcohol testing per DOT regulations.
Abilities and Skills:
- Able to demonstrate carpentry skills
- Able to perform basic building maintenance
- Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality with work product
- Excellent organizational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods of time
- Bend, twist, stretch or reach with body, arms and legs
- Manual and finger dexterity
- Near vision
