The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for the strategic leadership, governance, and execution of the airline’s enterprise-wide information technology and digital transformation agenda. The CIO will ensure that technology investments enhance operational performance, cybersecurity resilience, regulatory compliance, customer experience, and commercial growth across all business units.
This role requires a transformational leader capable of modernising legacy systems while maintaining uninterrupted operational reliability in a highly regulated aviation environment.
KEY DELIVERABLES
- Strategic Leadership
- Develops and executes a 3–5 year Digital & IT Strategy aligned to corporate objectives.
- Leads enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives, including automation, cloud migration, data analytics, and AI integration.
- Serves as the primary technology advisor to the CEO and Board.
- IT Governance & Operations
- Oversees all IT operations, including infrastructure, networks, applications, cybersecurity, and service delivery.
- Ensures 24/7 reliability of mission-critical aviation systems (e.g., reservations, flight operations, crew systems).
- Implements strong IT governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Cybersecurity & Risk
- Develops and maintain enterprise cybersecurity strategy and incident response capabilities.
- Ensures compliance with aviation regulatory requirements, data protection laws, and international best practices.
- AI & Digital Innovation Objective
- Leverages emerging technologies—including Artificial Intelligence, automation, and advanced analytics—to enhance operational resilience, safety, customer experience, and commercial performance, while ensuring responsible use, regulatory compliance, and long-term sustainability within a highly regulated aviation environment.
- Establishes frameworks for AI governance, data ethics, and accountability to ensure AI technology enhances safety, operational efficiency, customer experience, and decision-making without compromising trust, regulatory compliance, or organizational integrity.
- Commercial & Customer Technology
- Drives innovation across digital customer platforms (mobile apps, websites, booking systems).
- Enhances revenue management systems and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
- Financial & Vendor Management
- Manages IT budgets, capital investments, and cost optimisation strategies.
- Leads strategic partnerships with technology vendors and service providers.
- People Leadership
- Leads, mentors, and develops a high-performing IT team.
- Fosters a culture of innovation, accountability, and service excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 10–15 years’ progressive IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years at the senior executive level.
- Experience in aviation, transportation, logistics, or other highly regulated industries as preferred.
- Demonstrated success in leading digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise systems, cybersecurity frameworks, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence & automation and data governance.
- Proven experience managing multimillion-dollar IT budgets.
