How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) The Co-Op Flight Safety Programs responsibilities include providing support to the Flight Safety Accident/Incident Investigation Team, Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA), Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), and Pilot Fatigue. The data collected through these programs supports Deltas Safety Management System (SMS), which is a cornerstone of Deltas proactive accident and incident prevention system to track, trend and resolve aviation hazards. This position will include exposure to the full investigative process, in which a successful candidate will be responsible for collecting factual data, such as damage data, injury information, meteorological conditions, crew background, human performance data, flight recorder data, and other relevant investigative data. Additionally, the Co-Op will work directly with the safety teams, collaborating with our cross divisional partners in Corporate Safety and Flight Operations to support safety initiatives. This position will also partner with the Safety Assurance Team (SAT) within Flight Operations to analyze data derived from various safety reporting programs to track, trend, and resolve aviation hazards. Lastly, the Co-Op will assist with safety promotion products by writing safety articles, drafting presentations for front line employees and Delta leaders, and representing Delta Flight Safety at internal and external safety meetings.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) Must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a 4-year academic institution.At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale.Must be able to work on a full-time basis for 3 alternating semesters: Spring 2026, Fall 2026, and Summer 2027.This position requires student to work for 3 alternating semesters. Student cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op/Intern at the same time, which may delay graduation by 1-2 semesters.Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the Co-op.Working as a Co-op/Intern does not guarantee a full-time opportunity at Delta Air Lines upon graduation.
