Commercial Electrician (PER DIEM)Job Description
Embark on an exciting opportunity to work on the Starship Launchpad where you will be part of the team building the foundations for future launches. This role involves working long hours in a heavy construction environment, including working at heights.
Job Details
- Per diem is $125 per day
- Will be working 60 to 72 hours a week
- Pay is $35 an hour
- Project will go for at least 12 weeks with the opportunity of extension
- Will be bending conduit, pulling wire and prepping wire
- Must be okay with heights and confined spaces
Responsibilities
- Install and terminate wiring to pad instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Install connectors, connector pins, terminals, and lugs.
- Perform continuity checks and locate and correct wiring errors using measuring instruments such as ohmmeters and voltage calibrators.
- Collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot failures and issues derived from test data.
- Write, create, and organize work planning documents and instructions.
- Generate purchase orders from vendor quotes.
- Lead complex projects with minimal oversight.
- Install and modify electrical conveyances, including conduit and cable tray.
- Build intricate and complex cable assemblies using Mil-C connectors and contacts.
- Troubleshoot AC power distribution equipment up to 480VAC.
- Run and bend conduit.
- Assemble and repair electrical components both in-shop and on-site.
- Perform wire terminations, routing, and harness fabrication.
- Understand and apply knowledge of sensors, mili-amps, cable pulls, terminations, mechanical calibration, PLC programming, and repair using hand tools.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in a construction electrical environment or similar.
- Experience in preferred industries such as Shipyard, Oil/Gas, Aerospace, or Petro.
- Knowledge of sensors, mili-amps, cable pulls, and terminations.
- Ability to lay conduit and cable pulls for new instrumentation.
- Proficiency in mechanical calibration, PLC programming, and repair using hand tools.
- Understanding of basic direct current electrical theory.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree in Aerospace Technology or other technical fields.
- 2+ years of professional, hands-on experience working with launch site instrumentation.
- Experience with ISO 9000, IPC-620, and ICP-610 standards.
- Quality inspection experience with harnessing and cables.
- Experience helping to develop and document procedures.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to design and fabricate simple electrical circuits.
- Proficiency with power tools such as hand drills, grinders, band saws, vacuums, and impact drivers.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as wire strippers, screw drivers, brooms, flush cuts, and wrenches.
- Experience with NI LabVIEW, Step 7, Studio 5000.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
